DTH Drill Rig Wear Parts and Plastic Components
When using a DTH drill rig, the following precautions are necessary. Scientific replacement of wear parts not only extends machine service life but also enhances drilling efficiency.
During operation, it is essential to inspect the wear condition of the drilling tools. For example, **DTH drill pipes** must be replaced promptly when the wall thickness becomes severely worn or thin to prevent the pipe from breaking in the hole during drilling. **DTH drill bits** feature protruding spherical carbide inserts at the front. The bit should be replaced immediately when it becomes worn flat or if inserts are missing, as this significantly affects drilling efficiency.
During the feed and retraction of the power head, attention must be paid to the **nylon wear strips** housed within the iron sliders that secure the power head to the guide rails. After a period of use, the nylon material thins, causing the power head to become loose. Replacing the nylon strips is necessary to securely tighten the power head to the guide rail section. The interior of the power head requires regular greasing with a specified mixture of grease and gear oil for lubrication. It contains seals such as air seals and oil seals. When the machine reaches approximately **500 operating hours**, these seal components must be replaced to prevent air or oil leaks from the power head.
For the travel system of the DTH drill rig, we are equipped with heavy-duty crawler tracks and a piston motor. The track rollers that support the chain links internally, along with the track shoes themselves, require regular inspection for wear. If damage or severe wear is found, they must be replaced to prevent the track from derailing.
The engine requires servicing at its first 50 hours of use, including replacement of the engine filter elements. When operating a DTH drill rig on a site with severe dust conditions, it is crucial to check the air filter element to prevent clogging. Similarly, the hydraulic tank's suction and return oil filters are vital, as they are core components affecting the machine's proper operation.
The efficient operation of a DTH drill rig depends on the systematic management of its key wear parts. A scientific replacement strategy can reduce unplanned downtime by over 30% and increase overall economic efficiency by 25%.
